In the United States today, life expectancy is at an all-time high; a 65 year-old man can expect to live at least another 17 years, while a 65 year-old woman can expect to live at least another 20 years. This means older adults are using their increased longevity to stay involved in the workforce longer, engaging in their communities, and taking part in all kinds of activities from spending time with family volunteer work. Senior Living Communities are designed to help residents stay active physically, mentally, and socially. Many aging adults are considering moving to these communities while they are still active and independent, because they are becoming aware of the numerous benefits these communities offer when it comes to healthy aging. Read our December 2016 newsletter to learn how senior living communities promote healthy aging.
