Sunday, September 7th is Grandparents Day. Grandparents are crucially important figures, both to their grandchildren and adult children, but also to society as a whole. The profile of the American grandparent is changing. They are growing in numbers, widely diverse, and younger than past generations. According to U.S. Census Bureau figures, the average age of a new grandparent is just 47 years old. In honor of grandparents, our September Newsletter lists some of the many reasons why grandparents matter.
